What is in the audit trail

Every document carries a trail recording each event and the moment it happened, to the second, in UTC.

• Sent: to which address, from which account.
• Delivered or bounced, as reported by the receiving mail server.
• Opened: when the signing link was first loaded, and from which IP address.
• Signed or declined: the time, the IP address, and the consent the signer gave to sign electronically.
• Completed: when the last signature landed and the file was sealed.

The trail is part of the record and cannot be edited by anyone, including us. It travels with the completed PDF.
