What we collect
- Your name, email address, business name, role and state, given when you apply.
- What kind of paperwork you send and roughly how much of it, used to route your application to a reviewer.
- The documents you upload and the names and email addresses of the signers you name on them.
- Audit data for each document: when it was sent, opened, signed or declined, from which IP address, and to which address it was delivered.
- Technical data every web server receives: IP address, browser user-agent, and timestamps.
- Whether you consented to optional email, and when.
What we do not collect
- Card numbers or bank details. We do not process payments at all.
- Government identity documents.
- Your precise location. We store the state you type, nothing finer, and we never read device location.
- Contacts, photos or files from your device beyond the documents you deliberately upload.
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use the contents of your documents for anything except delivering them to the people you named.
How we use it
To decide your application, to deliver documents to the signers you name, to keep the audit trail that makes a signature defensible, to send the email the product runs on, and to investigate reports of misuse.
A signer sees the document you sent them, your name and your business name. They do not see your other documents, your other signers, or anything else on your desk.
How long we keep it
Completed documents and their audit trails are retained for ten years, which is what lets us answer a later dispute about who signed what. Contact-form messages are retained for two years. Technical logs are retained for 90 days.
A document that was never completed is deleted 18 months after it was last touched. You can delete a draft yourself at any time.
Where data lives
We operate primarily from New York. Data is held with infrastructure providers in the United States. A current list of sub-processors, including any located in the European Union, is available on request.
Data breach notification
If private information is acquired without authorisation we notify affected account holders in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, and we notify the New York State Attorney General, the Department of State and the State Police, as required by New York General Business Law § 899-aa, as amended by the SHIELD Act.
Your rights
- Access: ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: ask us to close your account and erase what we are not required to keep.
- Portability: ask for your data, and your completed documents, in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: ask us to stop using your data for a particular purpose.
