Anti-spam policy

247Docs is an email product, which puts the burden on us to send only what people asked for. This is the standard we hold ourselves to and what to do if we fall short of it.

1. What we mean by spam

Spam is unsolicited bulk email: a message sent to someone who never asked for it, usually to advertise something.

  • Commercial email sent without the recipient's consent.
  • Messages with false or misleading header information.
  • Subject lines that misrepresent what the message contains.
  • Bulk email with no working way to opt out.
  • Messages sent to an address after that address opted out.

2. How we send email

247Docs only emails people who gave us their address themselves, or who were named as a signer on a document by someone they do business with. Transactional email goes to account holders about their own desk, and to signers about the specific document they were sent. Optional summary and product email goes only to account holders who ticked the separate, unticked consent box during signup.

Every message we send carries

  • A clear sender identity: 247Docs.
  • A subject line that describes what is actually inside.
  • A physical postal address: 41 Madison Avenue, Floor 25, New York, NY 10010.
  • A working unsubscribe link, plus one-click unsubscribe support for mail clients that offer it.

3. What we never do

  • Buy, rent or import third-party email lists.
  • Harvest addresses by scraping the web or any other automated means.
  • Send commercial email to an address that never consented.
  • Disguise the sender, the reply address or the routing of a message.
  • Keep sending after someone opts out.

4. Compliance

We operate in line with the CAN-SPAM Act (United States), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for account holders and signers in the European Union. Consent records, including timestamps, are retained for as long as the account exists.

5. Account holder conduct

Using the service to send documents, notices or reminders to people who have no relationship with you is grounds for immediate removal. So is collecting signer details for use elsewhere. We cooperate with law enforcement where the conduct is unlawful.

6. Opting out

  • Use the one-click unsubscribe control your mail client shows at the top of the message.
  • Use the Unsubscribe link in the footer of any email, or go to https://www.247docs.net//unsubscribe.
  • Switch individual categories off under Settings, Notifications.
  • Email help@247docs.net and ask.

Opt-outs are honoured within 24 hours. Transactional email about a document you are a party to, or about your account security, continues while the account is open, because it is part of the service rather than promotion.

7. Reporting spam

If you received a message that claims to come from 247Docs and you believe it is spam or a forgery, email help@247docs.net with the subject line "Spam Report". Include the full message headers, the body, and the date and time it arrived. A person reads every report.
